Common Questions About Creating and Accessing Your AccessOAP Account

How can your family create an AccessOAP account?
You can create an AccessOAP account in three ways:

1. Online – The fastest way to get started is to set up an account on the family portal. To set up an account online, you need an active email address. You will be guided through the steps by following the prompts online.

2. Phone – You can contact AccessOAP at 1-833-425-2445 (Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5 PM Eastern Time), and we will help you get started.

3. Mail – You can create an account by mail. You have the option to download and print forms found on www.AccessOAP.ca/downloads. AccessOAP can also mail application forms to your family. You can contact AccessOAP by phone to request forms at 1-833-425-2445 (Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5 PM Eastern Time).

When creating your account, you will need to choose five security questions. Please choose questions and answers you can remember. In case you get locked out, the answers to these questions will be needed to regain access to your account. Remember to use the same uppercase and lowercase letters in your responses to each security question as you did when they were set up.

It may help to choose questions where the answers are clear, unlikely to change, and easy to remember. It is also important to choose questions and answers that are secure and unique to you.

Once your family sets up an AccessOAP account, you will be able to learn more about the services and supports available to you and your child or youth, and get the information needed to help you make decisions for your family.

What services are available to your family in the Ontario Autism Program (OAP)?

OAP services include:

  • foundational family services,
  • caregiver-mediated early years programs,
  • entry-to-school programs,
  • urgent response services, and
  • core clinical services (CCS).

In addition, your family can access care coordinators, who can assist you in navigating the services and supports available. Click here to learn more.

If your family cannot create an AccessOAP account online, how can you get help?

If your family is having trouble creating an AccessOAP account online, you have two options for help:

1. Call AccessOAP during business hours, and a care coordinator will guide you through setting up your account over the phone.

2. Call AccessOAP and request an application form be mailed to you for completion.

If your family doesn’t speak English or French, how can you set up an AccessOAP account?

AccessOAP understands the importance of offering support in different languages. We provide two interpretation service options for families who do not speak English or French.

Your family has the option to:

  • schedule a call in advance and request an AccessOAP interpreter or
  • use AccessOAP on-demand interpretation services when you call. When you call, you can let the care coordinator know that you need an interpreter, and an AccessOAP care coordinator will connect with one.

What happens if your family is locked out of your family portal account?

If your family is locked out of your AccessOAP account, contact AccessOAP by phone or emailing info@AccessOAP.ca. Care coordinators will send your family a password reset link to the email associated with your account.

Reminder: Email is not a secure method of communication, and you should not share personal health information by email.

We are here to help.
